Calling all Duck Hunters – it’s that eagerly awaited time again! Below, you’ll find the official 2023-2024 duck hunting season dates and zones for the state of Louisiana. Before you set out on your next waterfowl adventure, let’s ensure you’ve got all the info you need for a stellar hunting season.

Duck Hunting Zones & Dates for 2023
West Zone: This zone is defined as the portion of the state between the Texas State line and the line going south on LA Hwy 79 from the Arkansas border to Homer; then south on LA 9 to Arcadia; then south on LA 147 to Hodge; then south on US 167 to Lafayette; then south and east on US Hwy 90 to the Mississippi State line.
- Regular Season:
- November 11 – December 3
- December 11 – January 7
- January 13 – 21
- Youth (17 & Younger) and Veterans Only: November 4-5
East Zone: This zone is defined as the remainder of the state.
- Regular Season:
- November 18 – December 3
- December 16 – January 28
- Youth (17 & Younger) and Veterans Only: November 11 and February 3
