Here at Lake Charles Tackle, we have been serving the outdoor sporting needs of Calcasieu Parish and the surrounding area for a quarter-century. In addition having all your firearms, ammunition, decoy, rod and tackle covered, here is a quick overview of some programs we offer that make it easier for you to enjoy them.
Firearms Training
Don’t be ashamed if you’re completely new to shooting! With guns, the only thing to be ashamed of is using them unsafely. And even if you’ve been shooting for years, you might still need instruction to get your Concealed Carry Permit. We have an NRA-certified instructor on staff who offers a Louisiana Concealed Carry course and can also be booked for private lessons. Ask for Mathieu at The Gun Cave.
Financing
You might not always have the money on hand for the gun you need in time for the season. No need to miss the season for that. We offer interest-free financing for up to twelve months on most of the guns and accessories we sell. Qualified customers can take their purchases home the same day with no down payment. Our application is simple and only takes a few minutes to fill out, and there is no approval waiting period.
Layaway
Not everyone qualifies for financing, though. If you’ve decided on a gun you want, but aren’t approved for financing, and could still use a little more time to pay for it, we have a layaway program to help with all firearms sales. For a down payment of 20%, we will hold your purchases for up to three months.
Special Ordering
We might not always have exactly what you are looking for in stock, but we are able to order in pretty much any gun that is legal under federal and Louisiana law. Depending on the suppliers and their own availability, some orders may come in with a couple of business days. Instead of searching around for it yourself, order it through us and let us do the work.
FFL Transfers
But sometimes online auctions are a good way to find what you’re looking for. If you’ve never done that before, here’s how it works: guns can be shipped via UPS, FedEx, or the US Mail, but the sender and recipient both have to have a Federal Firearms License (FFL) from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. As an FFL holder, Lake Charles Tackle will be happy to handle the transfer of any guns you buy online. Simply tell the seller to ship to our Lake Charles address, let us know what guns you have coming in and roughly when to expect them, and pay our flat fee of $35 per transaction (even if there are multiple guns in a transaction). Licenses
We sell all Louisiana resident and nonresident hunting licenses, except lifetime licenses. For seniors 60 years or older, a senior license is available for only $5 that covers almost all hunting and fishing activities. We also carry the federal duck stamps required for waterfowl shooting.
